{"id":1835,"date":"2011-03-26T23:56:32","date_gmt":"2011-03-26T15:56:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tvsmith.my\/?p=1835"},"modified":"2011-03-27T09:05:26","modified_gmt":"2011-03-27T01:05:26","slug":"earth-hour-2011-malaysia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/tvsmith.net.my\/blog\/earth-hour-2011-malaysia\/","title":{"rendered":"Earth Hour 2011 Malaysia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At 8:30 pm on Saturday 26th March 2011, lights were switched off around the globe for an hour. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.earthhour.org\/\" target=\"_self\">Earth Hour<\/a> started in 2007 in Sydney when individuals and businesses turned off their lights to take a stand against climate change.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, it has become a global movement with more than 50 million people from 35 countries taking part. On to its 5th year, there should be better awareness on the part of our building owners. Camera was locked down on a solid Manfrotto tripod. IS (image stabilization) was disabled and manual exposure settings selected. Precise focus was achieved via the VF-2 finder and the camera&#8217;s 7x magnification focus assist. It was fun spinning the various Olympus art filters under the darkened\u00a0 Petronas Twin Towers. This is a rarely seen sight as the lights are usually turned on when there is still light in the sky.
