I got up really early to watch the sun rise from the South China Sea. Everything was looking good until aggressive dark clouds appearared. All of a sudden, a white cloud turned into a ferocious flying fish (center left). Big fight! It eventually swallowed all the bullies. Yay!

An Aquila in Brunei
One of the joys of street photography is the opportunity to talk to strangers. By engaging them, you get unusual pictures sometimes. I met this vegetable seller in a tiny town in Brunei. Soon we were talking about our mutual interest of bikes and he brought out his collection of Aquila bikes. Made by China’ss Hyosung, they are what snobs regard as a poor man's Harley (clone). I chose not to crop off the daughter for the square format as she ‘balances’ the pic.
Ani
My friend Ani, a restaurant operator, was bugging me to take a pic of her that will make her look like a fashion model. So I told her to get off the car and took this pic of her against a construction site hoarding. The “deer-caught-in-the-car-headlights” look with harsh lighting and resulting shadows was popular with fashion magazines at one time or another. Of course, she didn’t believe me when I told her clients will pay thousands for that style. She was quite pleased with the outcome and it did get her catwalk career going 🙂
