KLCC’s Musical Fountains

Some 30 years after Sentosa Island, some 20 years after Mines Wonderland, KL finally gets its own musical fountain and light show. Enthralling locals and Middle-East tourists, the watery performance is quite entertaining, actually.

The fountains at KLCC Park have been upgraded to dance to Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On”. Shocking I know. You would have thought 15 years later, the song is tolerable….

Dance Little Lady Dance

Dance Little Lady Dance. This is the first time I am uploading photos to the Internet with the new Samsung Galaxy S3, after receiving it from the OM-D via bluetooth.

Gets Better As It Gets Darker

Since I didn’t have a tripod with me, I used my camera bag as a bean bag, supporting the OM-D on it. Works quite well.

Flying Peanut Butter Jelly

A speeding LRT train becomes peanut butter jelly in a slow six-second exposure.

Since I have a stack of ND (Neutral Density) filters left over from the Transit of Venus, I thought I might as well put it to good use. After all, the next occurrence is in 105 years.

So interestingly, 4 pieces of ND8 (3 stops x 4 = 12 stops in light reduction) created some strange and bizarre images in bright sunlight. Because the exposures took as long as 3 or 4 seconds, a tripod was necessary. The Cokin filters also introduced a severe colour shift when stacked together.

A lone Chinese temple in the middle of the green acres, presented me with an unusual visual frame to juxtapose the vastness beyond.

Golden Harvest

This farmer said it was perfect timing (for me) as the crop would have been harvested within a week. Land will be scorched and barren, ready for replanting. The Panasonic 7-14 mm ultrawide angle lens was deployed for this shot.

Sekinchan, the “rice bowl” of Selangor, is a picturesque place with friendly folks. The farmers were harvesting when I arrived at the padi fields, after photographing the Transit of Venus from nearby. With many seafood restaurants dotting the coast, starting from Kuala Selangor, Sekinchan is a great place for a day trip for residents of Klang Valley.
