A relatively recent addition to the local night market, the China Burger is a misnomer. It is actually a burger-shaped pancake with neither buns nor meat patty. More like an egg muffin blended with a choice of real prawn, chicken, squid or seaweed fillings. Yumz.

The pasar malam is such a riot of colours. Muting the saturation alone, yielded a charming pastel effect. Although it is known as a night market, business is already brisk when the stalls open around 5 pm.

A frangipani flower resting on the grounds of a cemetery. Known as the graveyard flower, the scented but nectar-less plumeria is pollinated by duped moths at night. The trees seem to be in bloom right now, as the peaceful landscape is beautifully decorated in white. From the tree, the frangipani flower falls in one full piece, appearing like scattered bouquets on forgotten tombstones.
