Langat Kaya

The Kuala Pansoon area is well-known for its picturesque kampung houses, hills, rivers and eco resorts. At the village square, is a nondescript kopitiam famous for its kaya or coconut egg jam. The family started making the breakfast spread some forty years ago. Branded as Kaya Sri Langat, it has become so popular that they now make around 12,000 jars a month.

The kaya is preservative-free and their pandan-flavoured version is made with real pandan (screwpine) leaves. Don’t just take-away but try it there with their steamed or toasted Hainanese bread (fluffy Roti Benggali), half-boiled kampung chicken eggs and black coffee.

Nam Wah Coffee Shop, it seems, is also popular with the cycling community and is at 18th Mile Hulu Langat.
