I got up really early to watch the sun rise from the South China Sea. Everything was looking good until aggressive dark clouds appearared. All of a sudden, a white cloud turned into a ferocious flying fish (center left). Big fight! It eventually swallowed all the bullies. Yay!
Venus, the tiny black dot, crosses the sun on 6th June 2012. I photographed it from Kuala Selangor. It took 4 x ND8 filters to rein in the very bright sun. The next Transit of Venus will be in another 105 years in 2117. I was lucky to have witnessed and photographed this rare alignment twice this century.
For a brief few seconds one afternoon, the new mosque in Taman Melawati became a spectacular lighthouse as the sun hides behind its minaret. I photographed it using a couple of ND filters. Sun trajectory was measured with a GPS and Sun Surveyor app
