Cattle Drive

Cue the iconic theme from The Magnificent Seven. A modern cowboy leads a large herd of cattle through a busy traffic light junction in the city. It is a startling sight for any motorist from outside the area. This cowherd does it twice a day, assisted by two well-trained mongrel shepherd dogs.

I photographed this with the Panasonic LX-5 while waiting at the lights. Always keep your camera ready and within reach. You never know what will happen when you drive through the Wild Wild West of Sentul.

To photograph the Nine Emperor Gods Festival, you really need to spend at least half a day there. Go in the afternoon, stay there until night. Twilight hour is magical when sunlight and artificial light mix. Add rain to it and you have plenty of unique photo opportunities such as this puddle of rainwater on a table.

This is the 9th post of the 9-day Nine Emperor Gods Festival 2012. Thank you for the 900 odd likes on Instagram. Hope you enjoyed the series and found some of the photography tips useful.

Back to regular eclectic programming after this.
