The V Sign
You’re not Asian unless you flash the V sign automatically when you see a camera 🙂 Exploring the slums of Payatas near Manila, I stumbled upon this group of cheerful kids. The boy just couldn’t get his fingers to pry open. But no worries, sister is there to help. Don’t be afraid to apply the monochrome (black and white) filter. Colours distract, sometimes.
The Ant
Ants can be difficult models, especially those with a prima donna attitude. When you shout instructions to move closer, they sulk and climb on your lens instead. Call the agent for a re-shoot the following week and they’ll claim he or she’s already dead from old age. This ant on a fibre optic cable was less than half a centimeter. For this model shoot, I used the Olympus Zuiko Digital 35mm macro lens with the EF-25 extension tube.
