Homage

Stepping into rustic Kuala Kubu Baru is like stepping back in time. Built in 1965, the town’s St Paul’s Catholic Church retains the blockish design of its era. As I stand before it today, the overcast sky and architecture combined for a homage to the past. The now faded and unique Eastman Color look of motion pictures from The Sixties.

What A Caper!

I am not photographing an illusion created by shooting through glass. There is no glass, only a frame. Neither is this a distorted reflection off a skyscraper window. It is the actual shape of the buildings. Notice how the other buildings are not bent? I like the design of the The Capers in Sentul East. It dares to be bold and different. KL’s skyline needs more funky architecture.

Broken Windows

A dilapidated but occupied old building in Chinatown KL. Watercolour filter was applied. The tragedy about our old heritage buildings is that they are either left in disrepair or the windows are replaced with mismatched aluminium framed black tinted glass. Sigh.
