Gothic architecture in a storm. Mysterious and stoic. The Chapel of Saint Augustine in Titi. Could not find a single person around to ask about the history of this quaint and beautiful church in the remote Jelebu valley.

Stepping into rustic Kuala Kubu Baru is like stepping back in time. Built in 1965, the town’s St Paul’s Catholic Church retains the blockish design of its era. As I stand before it today, the overcast sky and architecture combined for a homage to the past. The now faded and unique Eastman Color look of motion pictures from The Sixties.

Christmas Eve Mass at St John’s Cathedral, Kuala Lumpur earlier tonight. Built in 1883, the Catholic Church’s customary layout resembles a cross. I photographed this view from the left side of the crossbar.
