River Of Fire

Traffic flowed like molten lava spilling from a volcano in this long exposure of a busy city street. The rain last night and the resulting wet surfaces enhanced the liquid look.

I was at first tempted to use a Joby GorillaPod to clamp the camera onto the railing of the bridge where I stood. There was too much vibration so I opted for the Manfrotto 190CX carbon fibre tripod on the concrete floor. It is fairly stable given its small footprint and is light enough for gun and run-style shooting. Certain overhead pedestrian bridges are dark and known spots for mugging so is a good idea to stay agile.

Dragon On A Cactus

I first saw a dragonfruit in a market in Vietnam many years ago. Didn’t realise then it is a fruit of a cactus plant. Also known as pitaya in other places, the red fruit is now cultivated on a large scale in the Sepang area.

The Twilight Zone

As darkness sets in, strangling plants emerge from the fine white sand to surround an unsuspecting family. The secluded beach is known as Bagan Lalang or Weed’s Landing.

“There is a fifth dimension, beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone”  – Rod Serling.
