I first saw a dragonfruit in a market in Vietnam many years ago. Didn’t realise then it is a fruit of a cactus plant. Also known as pitaya in other places, the red fruit is now cultivated on a large scale in the Sepang area.

Flashback: The pit crew in action during the now defunct A1 Grand Prix (A1GP). The competitors represented their nation instead of themselves or teams. As such, the A1 series was also known as the “World Cup of Motorsport”. There were talks of a revival of the concept under a different banner but so far it hasn’t materialized.
A1 Team Malaysia was the title sponsor of my PhotoBlog during that time. I often photographed them from the pit lane and garage when they were racing in the home circuit.
Past 7:30 pm, the beach at Bagan Lalang looked very dark to the naked eye. It was so dark, I didn’t even realise there were still beachcombers around. The camera saw the lingering sunset differently with an exposure of 1 second at f 1.4.
Don’t carry a tripod when you are on vacation. Make do with any solid surface you find around you. I parked the camera on some rocks by the seafront embankment. The 2-sec self-timer was used to eliminate camera shake during pressing of shutter release button.
In the background, the chalets of the Golden Palm Tree Resort (Sepang Goldcoast) extend from the coastline into the Straits of Malacca.
