An image or likeness of the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared on the glass pane of the new wing of the Sime Darby Medical Centre (formerly Subang Jaya Medical Centre) a few days ago. When I arrived there late afternoon today, there was a crowd of Catholics congregating in the rain. Many were silently in prayers, seeking blessings or simply awestruck.
I always try to explore places in the morning or late afternoon when the shadows are longer and more interesting. The arch and pillar formed an arrow at St Aloysius Church at 4:48 pm. This Catholic church was built in 1901 when the Mat Sallehs used to call the area Mine Tin because of mining activities. Locals eventually corrupted the town’s name to become Mantin.
How do you photograph the dome of a 500-year-old cathedral that has been painted or photographed 500 million times or more? I photographed Manila Cathedral via its reflection off a puddle of water outside and rotated the picture up-side down 🙂
