Dragonflies In Love

If you thought photographing birds in flight is tough, wait until you chase a dragonfly with a tele lens. They are about an inch-and-a-half long and zig-zag at random. When they are in love, we are entertained to a Bollywood movie-like dance at the speed of light.

Over a romantic sunset, the couple darted around blades of grass, hovered above water and finally gazed into each other’s eyes, mid-air. That was when I shouted: “Cut! Good take!” 🙂

The Greatest Show On Earth

Within minutes, a big squadron of painted storks flew in. The giant birds put up an amazing aerial display above the old Setapak Mosque. They circled overhead and flew in formation for a good 5 minutes in this special Maal Hijrah Airshow.

Supersonic Dogfight

Have you ever seen fighter jets at eye-level firing flares to deflect heat-seeking missiles? It is spectacular and scary at the same time. I photographed this supersonic dogfight during the LIMA 2011 Airshow in Langkawi.
