Journey Of The Chariot

At about 2:30 am just now, the chariot makes it way through the city. Accompanied by thousands of devotees on foot, the procession is heading towards Batu Caves for the annual Hindu festival of Thaipusam.

Shakti Temple

Chanced upon this new landmark in Kuala Selangor the other day. What struck me most was the single earth tone colour used. The Shakti Hindu Temple in Bukit Rotan stood out beautifully as it basked in the warm rays of the setting sun.

While the axis of great temples are usually aligned to ancient precepts, it took 10 seconds for Photoshop CS6’s powerful “Content Aware Fill” to remove an unsightly telecommunications tower at the back.

Thaipusam 2013 – Part 6

It was a great sunny morning, blue skies and everything nice. The famous Olympus colours were already overflowing when out of nowhere came this pink man on hooks 🙂

This pic concludes my special 6-part coverage of this year’s Thaipusam Festival at Batu Caves. See also video of the chariot and kavadi bearers at my YouTube Channel: http://www.youtube.com/tvsmith
