I was standing there looking at this strange Chinese temple with a cave on top of it. Wondering how I should photograph it when, out of nowhere, a boy came running and punching a basketball into the air. One of those lucky days.
Since it was a bright sunny day, I mounted an optical polarising filter earlier to deepen the already very bluish sky. When converted to back and white, the day sky appeared like night. Surreal but nice.

Exploring the meandering Tengi River on a sunny day, I discovered this off-the-beaten-track place. With a polariser, the deep blue sky and the striking colours of the riverside temple jumped out.
Like other places with a Chinese fishing community, temples dot the landscape of the coastal town of Tanjung Karang or Cape of the Corals. The seafarers pray to a patron deity for protection.

The under-utilised LEKAS Expressway near the Mantin mountains. In the age of digital filters, the physical glass filters are also under-utilised. There are still some things that can only be achieved by placing a specific optical filter over the lens.
On this sunny day-journey today, the Circular Polariser enabled easier shooting through the windscreen. When rotated to the correct position (angle), it lessens reflections of the glass and darkens / deepens the colours of the sky.
