The Straits Of Malacca

A boat jetty in Pasir Panjang serves as an angler’s spot over the Strait of Melaka. In the background is Cape Rachado (Tanjung Tuan). I was waiting to salute the migratory eagles flying in from Pulau Rupat in Indonesia. The raptors fly back to Siberia and other parts of Northern Asia this time of the year. This is their first pit stop in the most amazing and perilous journey home.

Cape Rachado

Port Dickson beach is still beautiful on certain stretches. This is Cape Rachado (Tanjung Tuan) where thousands of magnificent eagles, falcons and other migratory raptors stop for the night during their annual ‘balik kampung’ spring exodus to Siberia.
