Decadence

The Majapahit Empire extended to Malacca during its13th century heyday. Not sure if its decline was due to decadence like what happened with the Roman Empire.

Gula Melaka or palm sugar is widely used in local desserts. This cake from Delicious Cafe is aptly named Gula Melaka Decadence. Sweet, sweet indulgence photographed with the 60mm Macro lens.

Old Cowboys Never Die, They Just Ride Off Into The Sunset

Cue the most iconic instrumental theme from a western ever; The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Not all cowboys get to ride into the sunset, though. Some get hanged. The noose is actually a broadband fibre optic cable coiled up on a pole. Quite a common site in residential areas. Photographed this from the car during a traffic jam near the Taman Bahagia LRT station.

Women Power

It is nice to see a night market stall operated solely by women, selling and replacing covers of various smartphones. The replacement of the phone covers and cases is not as easy as one would imagine.

While waiting, this lady customer with the tattoo, told me she got her ink done for RM450 at Sunway. I think tattoo artists should also set up stalls at the night markets. At the same venue, I saw a hairdresser with her own air-conditioned trailer.
