Happy New Year 2011!

Kuala Lumpur’s New Year’s Eve fireworks shootout seemed totally uncoordinated. Some even pulled the trigger ten minutes before midnight. How hard is it to get a watch or clock correctly adjusted for the countdown?

From my location in Taman TAR Ampang, I could not tell what building this was but they shot the highest and most beautiful fireworks from the roof. More spectacular than Dataran Merdeka and KLCC combined.

Pre-Peep: Mammoth On The Lake

There is a mammoth rising from the lake. The new South Integrated Transport Terminal or Terminal Bersepadu Selatan at Bandar Tasik Selatan is scheduled to be opened on 1st January 2011. This bus terminal is bigger than many of the airport terminals in the country. Here’s an exclusive preview of the mega terminal built over part of the lake…

The integration part comes from its proximity to the existing ERL, KTM and LRT Stations in Bandar Tasik Selatan. See the long connecting walkway.

Six floors, 55 bus platforms, 150 taxi bays, 1,000 parking bays and 1,800 seats in air-conditioned waiting halls. Unlike ancient Puduraya, the buses wait at an external bus holding area. So no more free carbon monoxide at the platforms 🙂
