It’s the Hindu Festival of Lights today! Here are a couple of portraits of some nice people I met at the Sri Mariamman Hindu Temple in Chinatown this morning.
A big Deepavali smile from 3 year-old Danistha and her grandparents. I like how their faces were lit by the strong sunlight reflected off the temple’s marble floor.

The monsoon has been raining an ocean almost every afternoon. It may have dampened business but not the spirit of the traders at the Deepavali Bazaar in Little India Brickfields. A shop there decided to shrink-wrap the pavement where I was walking. Naturally, it presented an unusual and interesting subject for the camera 🙂

Despair is when a kid travels all the way to Little India only to find his favourite fireworks stall closed because of the rain. Photographed at 11:30 pm on Wednesday night. I like the rainy, late night atmosphere at the Deepavali bazaar in Klang. Lingering shoppers, half-closed stalls, strewn garbage, drizzle, wet roads and random strangers.
