Vietnam Kitchen

I was seated at a very dark corner inside Vietnam Kitchen in Jaya 33 Mall. Had only the Pana-Leica 25mm f1.4 lens but didn’t bring the clip-on flash nor the handy Manfrotto ML 240 LED light. The Samsung Galaxy S3’s flash light came to the rescue. With the right amount of light, spring rolls spring to life 🙂

Like the Masala Tosai featured here earlier, Gỏi Cuốn or Vietnamese Spring Roll is listed as one of World’s 50 most delicious foods complied by CNN Go. It is actually salad roll with prawn, vegetables, vermicelli (bihun) wrapped in rice paper. While there is no pork in this particular dish, the restaurant is non-halal.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs

It was a rainy night in Raub and I was hungry. Drove by a pizzeria with a intriguing banner that proclaimed: “Around the world and now in Raub!” The pizza and pasta at Sarpino’s turned out to be quite good. Better than other chain-pizzerias found in the city.

Photographed and eaten: The Ultimate Double Meat: Homemade pizza sauce, beef pepperoni, beef meatballs, red onions, green peppers, fresh tomatoes topped with mozzarella cheese.

Yummy Seafood Noodles, Anyone?

Japanese plastic food is something I always marvel at. It is an artform itself. The Japanese calls it ‘Sampuru’ which is a cute corruption of the English word ‘Sample’. I suppose it is popular because in many places, tourists wouldn’t try anything from the menu unless they can see a replica. This one I photographed through a glass display window of a restaurant in Resorts World Sentosa Singapore.
