What is a Harley event without some gruff men with chains and tattoos? And behind those shades and leather, are some nice and sweet guys, as always.

Photography Tip: If you have the guts to push an ultra-wide angle lens very close, it will yield interesting results. Because it is so wide, people usually take the safe approach and take in everything from afar. I use it near to isolate and to add drama to candid portraits. Up-close and personal, it allowed me to capture the character, personality and mood, in this instance.

Harley-Davidson - 110 Years Of Freedom

This year, from Milwaukee to Rome and at dozens of other cities across the globe, Harley-Davidson is commemorating 110 years of classic motorcycles and classic good time. Kuala Lumpur’s Asia Harley Days is South-east Asia’s first and largest Harley-Davidson event with a parade of some 600 Harley-Davidson bikes.

Riding a Road Glide Custom, Bill Davidson, the great-grandson of company co-founder, William A. Davidson, led the convoy ride through Kuala Lumpur this morning.

Riding Like A Blur Sotong

It was around year 2001 and I was riding my old Harley down a lonely, dusty road. Half expecting balls of tumbleweeds to roll out, I was surprised by an orange Milwaukee sign instead. What I thought was a Harley-Davidson workshop turned out to be a truck stop-style diner from near.

I wasn’t on Wisconsin Highway 66. I was in the boondocks of Balakong. The old route from The Mines to Balakong was being straightened and widened, resulting in blinding and blurring dust.

12 years later, I re-visited the place today. Amazingly, waitress (now manager) Pam and Chef Razak Amin are still there. So is their Juicy Calamari Steak and many other delicious Western-style dishes in (the now refined) menu.

Originally, the biker-owner intended Milwaukee Steak Corner as a shrine to the iconic brand. Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA is after all, Harley-Davidson headquarters.
