Discovered this simple and beautiful mosque while exploring Ho Chi Minh City one night. The Saigon Central Mosque or Jamia Al Muslimin or Dong Du Mosque was built in 1935 and is one of 12 mosques in this largest city of Vietnam.
The St Joan Of Arc Church and Synagogue is located in the Chinatown district of Saigon. Built in 1928, this Ho Chi Minh City landmark is almost always photographed straight-on with a wide-angle lens in travel brochures.
I walked down a bit and waited until these two street vendors arrived. Their Vietnamese conical straw hats provided juxtaposition against the pink Gothic architecture. The Church is known locally as Thánh Nữ Jeanne D’Arc and also Nhà thờ Ngã Sáu.
Remember when you were in primary school and all you wanted was to have a nice picture of yourself taken? All your classmates wanted was to place funny gestures behind your head? This group of kids in a school in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam) made sure no one had a photo taken without horns. Turned out to be better and I had as much laughs as they did 🙂
