I always try to explore places in the morning or late afternoon when the shadows are longer and more interesting. The arch and pillar formed an arrow at St Aloysius Church at 4:48 pm. This Catholic church was built in 1901 when the Mat Sallehs used to call the area Mine Tin because of mining activities. Locals eventually corrupted the town’s name to become Mantin.
Driving through the little town of Ulu Beranang near Broga, I thought I saw several petite stewardesses rushing to the airport. Turned out to be a bunch of elementary school kids dragging their heavy bags home. Unlike their counterparts in the city, there is no doting parent, chauffeur or maid waiting at the gate to carry their burden. Be it urban or rural, isn’t it time we get a tablet into every child’s hand?
There is a new restaurant in PJ that will make hipsters weep with joy. It is not only organic but is also vegetarian. Yes. A restaurant that serves traditional Chinese dishes meatless and from healthy organically-grown ingredients. For a quick bite, their yummy vegan Yam Basket shown here is a good choice.
